Northville Baptist - Club Champions
Just over a month until we host the 2010 Christian Football Federation Australia National Titles (1 -4 October). We look forward to an even better season in 2011 - a season in which we host the Australian Christian Football Junior Titles!
Thank You
Thank you to all who helped to make this year's Grand Final event such a success!
Thanks to the players, referees and spectators. To the Premier League sides, Newcastle Christian Centre and Hunter Bible Church, for ending the season with a cracker of a game - only separated by penalty shootout!
Thanks to the Management Committee for the many hours spent planning the day. Especially to James Smith for looking after Maitland Park, the amenities, fields and canteens.
Thanks to David Jackson from Winding Creek Photography for capturing the event and all participating teams. Please get your orders for photos into David asap.
Thanks to the Christian Southward and the Ladies Representative team for operating the BBQ and to Maitland Baptist Church for operating the canteen at Robins Oval.
Thanks to Fred Ghanayem (Registrar) and Greg Willis (Treasurer) for your many years of service to the Association. You're leaving the records and accounts in good shape.
Thanks to Pastor Marty McCrindle for closing our season off with a special prayer.
Keep tuned in the off season, as we will be announcing the details of our 2011 Over 35's competition.
Thank you and God bless, Ian Cowling President
Ladies 2 Minor Premiership
Ladies Division 2 was made up of seven teams this season and after round three a regrade took place. With wet weather cancellations and byes, this caused one team to play a game more than the other six teams. This situation is not directly covered by our Standing Orders.
Management Committee was asked to rule on the Minor Premiership, as the team which played one more game also finished the regular season on top of the ladder.
Rather than a Management Committee decision ruining the season for both teams involved, the club managers were quizzed about another approach. As such, New Heights Christian Church Ladies 2 and Latter Day Warriors Ladies will play the major semi-final on Saturday 14 August, with the winner progressing to the Grand Final but also being named Minor Premiers for 2010.
The result is now where it should be - in the hands of the players and not the Management Committee. Best wishes to all concerned!
Across the country, there are around 50,000 players lacing up to play each week in Junior and Senior Christian Soccer competitions. Praise God for continued growth in our Associations.
